Saved by Merlin and raised by an old knight, Arthur shows his worthyness by pulling the sword Excalibur from the stone it was buried in. But to become king, he must defeat Lavic, who is under the protection of the powerful sorceress Medessa. He goes in search of the magical shield that will insure his victory, and meets on his way companions who share the same ideals of justice.
